Buildroot is the DBAN development platform. BusyBox and uClibc components are used throughout DBAN.
Ubuntu
The EBAN Server is an Ubuntu customization. Canonical, the company that supports Ubuntu, says that it is "Linux for Human Beings", which is accurate. Start here if you want to try Linux.
CodeWeavers
The CodeWeavers CrossOver product lets programs for Microsoft Windows run directly on Linux or Mac OS X computers. CrossOver is the best way to install Microsoft Office on a Linux computer.
VMware
VMware has granted us permission to redistribute the VMware Player, and VMware workstation has been our testing and QA platform since it was a grad project at Stanford. A large part of our company IT infrastructure runs on VMware Server or VMware ESX.
Drupal
The Drupal content management system runs this web site. It took us forever to move the old DBAN web site into a CMS, but it was like buying my first microwave. I should have done it sooner.
